Part 1: What Is the Higher Self?
Seeing Beyond the Chair You’re Sitting In
Imagine you’re sitting on a chair, looking straight ahead. You can see what’s in front of you – maybe 50 meters in the distance. It’s a familiar view. It’s your life, your thoughts, your “now”.
Now imagine you stand up. Suddenly, your line of sight stretches further – maybe to 100 meters.
If you then take one step up onto a ladder or a staircase, you can see 200 meters.
Another step? 400.
Another? 600.
With every step upward, your perspective expands. You’re still you – but your vantage point changes.
This is one of the easiest ways to describe what we often call the Higher Self.
A Wiser Version of You
Your Higher Self is not something separate or magical. It’s you – a step above. It sees what your current position cannot. It has more overview, not more value. It can see beyond the curve, while you’re still walking the straight road.
In my experience, this Higher Self exists in many levels. There is the Higher Self – the first step above your awareness. Then, there’s the Next Higher Self, one step above that. And even the Next Next Higher Self, holding an even broader overview.
Each step is not better. It’s just… higher up, able to see more.
Getting in Touch with the Higher Self
For most people, the first connection happens in a trance state or deep focused meditation. That’s natural. Think of it like tuning into a subtler, quieter frequency.
Your daily thoughts and mind activity are often too loud to hear it clearly.
But here’s something beautiful: with practice, trust, and alignment, that connection doesn’t always require a meditative state. It can become more permanent.
In my own journey, I’ve developed constant access to my Higher Self, my Next Higher Self, and even my Next Next Higher Self. I don’t need to go into deep meditation anymore – unless I want to connect with the Next Next Next Higher Self, which exists one level above where I’m currently operating. That’s the one I now simply refer to as my Higher Self, because it is one step higher from where I am.
And honestly? I don’t aim to permanently connect with that one. It’s not necessary. If it happens, it happens. There is no ambition in that space. Just trust. At these levels, there is no greed for more.
Why Access Isn’t the Goal
Not everyone needs to build this kind of ongoing connection. Most people live rich, aligned lives by simply checking in now and then – receiving guidance when the system is ready and willing. This isn’t about achieving something. It’s about letting the deeper parts of your being work together.
Sometimes, your Higher Self gives clarity when your mind doesn’t know the next step. And sometimes, it just watches quietly, because the experience itself is the purpose.
There is no need for control in the upper steps of the ladder.
A Presence That’s Already There
Your Higher Self isn’t something you need to create. It’s already there – always has been. Because it is a part of your being.
The question isn’t how can I reach it – but rather:
How do I build the trust to communicate with it?
That’s not something you push. It’s something that unfolds, step by step, as your inner system feels safe, aligned, and ready.
For some, it begins with subtle impulses. For others, it arrives in moments of stillness or during deep inner work. There’s no single method, no formula. But the connection is possible for everyone.
